Welcome to Goatling Spotlight! A mini event where we get to show off your favorite Goatlings! Each week a new Goatling will be featured in the News and the owner will receive a shiny Spotlight Trophy to display on their pets page or in their collection. This week is all about Pollanne!
 | Name: Pollanne Appearance Doll: Orchid Mantis AD Guardian: @bluescreen Give Love! Bio: Pollanne is a gardener. She loves flowers, and all plants. She never takes more from the vegetable patch than the plants can regrow - half the time she will even murmur an apology. She is quiet around humans and other goatlings, but she will bask in their company and show a small smile at even the worst dad joke. When alone in her garden she will make animated conversation with the plants. She is very self-conscious about this and will hide her face if someone catches her, but will start up again when she is sure you are gone. Secretly she feels that the plants talk back. She owes her appearance to a very special friendship with a magical flower. |

Short Story
Some time later, a young butterfly perched himself on the flower's bowing stem. He opened his mouth, intending to speak consoling words. But then the flower spoke.
"Go away," she said, "For I am alone. I will always be alone, and no creature may console me."
The butterfly left.
Later that day, a bee came, for he admired the flower's bright, fragrant pollen, and he saw no reason for her to keep him from it. But the flower turned her head.
"Go away," she said, "For I am alone. I will always be alone, and no creature may console me."
Next came a young goatling, grey of coat and bright of eye. Her intentions were not so benign as those before her, but she didn't know any better. She was simply hungry. She nibbled at the grass shoots that had pushed themselves between the cobblestones on which the flower's pot stood. Good riddance to them, was the flower's opinion. Finally, the young goatling stretched her neck to reach the beautiful flower. But then she stopped, for she could hear it crying.
"Flower," she said, "why are you so sad?"
"Go away," said the flower, "For I am alone. I will always be alone, and no creature may console me."
The goatling withdrew, and bowed her head gravely. "I am alone too. I can't find my mother, and I've looked everywhere."
This touched the flower, for she had found one who knew how she felt. "Then stay with me, and we will keep one another company..."

- We understand that auctions may become intense, but please do not be frustrated or discouraged. There's always next week!
- Members who pester or disrespect others who have placed bids and/or won an auction will be permanently silenced.

Bio: Emmi // age in goat years: 10 // they-them // They love small gems, green things, and being that particular goat in a million who eats their veggies, broccoli. They have a few items in their collection that have to do with healing, like the grass potion. They want others to be healthy, and Emmi also enjoys giving people little surprises of life. Seeing someones expression while a miracle is happening is truly a sight to behold. Emmi likes to relax and play video games such as Goatlings. They take pride in being the only goat in town that can tap computer keys using hooves. They simultaneously happen to enjoy butting people with their horns as an activity to relax. Emmikku's a goat with a sweet and bubbly side, and a small portion being atrocious despite their shy looks. This goat wants to be a botanist when they're older. Not a good idea for someone as pesky and hyper as them. |
